Default rear drive shaft question!

My u joints are going bad. Like really bad in my rear driveshaft. I have one more day left for work and my jeep is my dd but I don't think it'll hold up. I work about 12 mins away from my house and the highest speed limit is 55. Could I take the rear off and put it in 4 high just to get to work back and forth one time? I obviously would go 55mph I'd go slower. I heard somewhere that 4 high is good up to 40ish???? Would it be safe?
