Default Driving w/o passwnger seat

I'm going to have my interior bullet lined and the guy told me to remove everything except the driver seat when I drop it off. I've been told that if I disconnect the air bag connector, then the air bag light will have to be reset by the dealer. Is there any truth to this or will it just turn off when I plug it back in later?

I've had my seats out and driven and swapped different year seats back and forth. When I plugged the harness back in it reset itself.

You won't have an airbag light lit up on the dash
