After waiting a few weeks for them to get more in stock, I was finally able to order a set of their 6 LED spot light kit for my a-pillars from Sami and the crew at Inspired Engineering. I paired these with a dual LED switch from OTRATTW and the Rugged Ridge a-pillar switch pod. I have nothing but praise for both Inspired Engineering and OTRATTW regarding shipping times. I had both the lights and the switch at my doorstep exactly 3 days after I placed my order (especially impressive that the switch came from CA to FL).

Here's how the light kit arrived (all within a bigger box of course):



The kit contained 2 of their cube lights, 2 Rugged Ridge brackets, a complete wiring harness with relay, in-line fuse, switch and waterproof connectors, and instructions.

The lights are of very good build quality with no mis-aligned LEDs in the reflectors and they're heavier than I expected.



The switch from OTRATTW was equally impressive in quality:



I'm not going to go step by step into the install process, as I'm sure there are quite a few on the forums already, but here are a few ideas that some might find useful.

I mounted the relay using the factory bolt that holds the battery tray to the side of the engine bay and it worked perfectly:

 

I needed a switched power source to operate the independent green LED of my switch, but I also wasn't too keen on splicing into factory wires just yet. I opted to use an add-a-circuit that I picked up for $7 from the local auto parts store. I plugged it into the circuit for the heated front seats (which I don't have). I believe this was either the M8 or M9 location. The fuse box did already have a 20A fuse installed there, which is strange since I don't have that feature Note in the picture, that if you follow this method, you will need to cut/snip/rip a groove in the outer wall of the fuse box to avoid kinking the wire when the lid is closed (like I did the first time):



I ran the wires to the switch through the foam insulation on the driver's side. I don't have a good picture of it, but it's a round hole, plain as day when you remove the side panel from the dash. Here's the wires going into the hole looking from the engine bay to the rear of the Jeep:

Just wanted to do a quick update now that these have been installed for almost 3 months. Everything is holding up great. I was worried that I might start seeing some fogging behind the lenses due to the humidity down here, but haven't seen anything of the sort. I highly recommend these!

 

looks awesome. so freak bright! now a light bar would complete it lol. I am for sure getting a light bar and have been on the fence about the windshield cubes but they are growing on me. is the red arounf the light come in other colors?

 

I'd love a lightbar, but for my needs, that would be way overkill. I'd rather put that money towards lockers, etc.

Yes, the red bezel was an option. The also come in all black.

 

Good write up. I'm installing cubes this weekend. I'm starting with a generic switch but will be using the same blend of RR and OTRATTW. Do you have a link handy for the switch panel install?

 

I have the same ones in amber as fog lights. I've had them on for over 2 yrs now no problems. And one year made it through the salty doom of a New Jersey winter. And yes they are bright as hell.
