Default Speed sensors, any tips?

I just installed my rear chromoly axle shafts, but I'm having trouble getting the speed sensor wire end reconnected to the actual speed sensor. It was a B$&;@!H to get off after sliding the red tab out, now when I slide them on and press the red tab in I can still remove them by had with a little tug. Any tips on getting these suckers back on correctly?

Maybe I stripped them out somehow and broke something? I didn't hear anything pop or break when I finally got them disconnected.

Also my ABS and traction control lights are on, assuming that is due to the speed sensors not attached properly?
