Question PSC rear crusher fitment

After trying a few times to mock up the rear fenders, I still get a huge gap between the fender and the body. I talked to PS on the phone and they say the fender will pull to the bodies sheet metal, but 1/2+" seems like a lot to me. And I don't see these aluminum fenders being that forgiving. Is this normal for these fenders? The bolt holes line up ok, but the fender rides so high up on the body that it is riding on the radius on the body and not flush like I think it should be. Do they all fit like this or just the set I got? The fronts fit ok.

Tried to find the best pics I had of mine so you would have a better point of reference.
