Default SPOD single LED swap for OTRATTW Dual LED switches

I have looked all over about 4 different forums and followed 6 different diagrams and cannot seem to get a correct one yet.

I have an SPOD tat came with single LED switches already installed. Then I bought 2 OTRATTW switches that have an ICON on top and words on bottom here is the exact model number:

> > > Switch Selection : V1D1JBBB- BLUE UPPER DEPENDENT, BLUE LOWER INDEPENDENT

I have those two currently wired up as follows:

PIN 8 is connected to the green ground wire in spod harness.
PIN 7 is has a set of jumpers I connected with spade clips and then spliced back into the green wire that goes to pin 8 in between switches 4 and 5.

The rest is wired up the same as the single LED switches. The switches turn on and off the accessories just fine. The problem I am having is that when I turn the switch on the only light that comes on is the ICON the top of the switch. The lettering does not light up. Although the light is so bright is kinda of lights up the bottom lettering. I unplugged the grounds that I have spliced that go to PIN 7 and it looks the same. So I am assuming that the bottom LED is not working.

I plan on splicing into the dimmable illumination wire that connects to the door lock button on the harness near the brake pedal. From everything I have read I will then have to connect that onto pin 6.

Am I doing something wrong that is preventing the bottom LED from lighting up. Do I just need to finish wiring everything up in order to fix my dilemma ?

The end result is I would like for the ICONs on top of the switch to light up when I have my jeep lights on and for the lettering to light up when I have the switch on.

Thanks for the help guys ive been working on this now for 2 days and its time to get some help.

If you have nothing connected to pin 6, then you have no current flowing through the lower LED.

So I ended up getting power to pin 6 via the headlight wire in the footwell. Must of bought the switches backwards cause the bottom lights with the headlights top only comes on when switch is on

I would try getting power to the lower led from the the dash lights. Then it should come on with the dash lights and should be able to dim as well.

It comes on with dash lights now.....I havent tried to dim it but the blue isnt as bright as everyone has said before. I just think I bought the switches opposite of what I was trying to accomplish as far as which one is independent and which one is dependent.

Sounds like the correct ones to me. I would want the writing on the bottom to come on with the dash lights, so I could see what was what in the dark. Then I would want the top one to come on when the switch is activated so I know they're on and don't forget to shut them off.

I'm not so sure it will be able to dim since the headlights don't dim, they are either on or off.
