Default Trailer hitch/torque

Just installed the quadratec class ll hitch for my JKU. Used a torque wrench and adjusted it to the suggested 80lbs. Your suppose to hear/feel a clicking noise when the bolts are torqued but I never heard one...I ended up tightening the bolts until I could tighten anymore. Am I doing something wrong?

Try setting the torque wrench to a lower setting and see if it clicks like it is supposed to. What brand and style torque wrench? Are you sure it is good?

Tried it on 40lbs and it worked...but that was reversing the bolts. It's a Pittsburg pro click type...thing is idiot proof...

Sounds like you weren't pulling 80 pounds before. That's a pretty good pull, but doable for most folks. It's the 125 for the control arms that wears me out. And 160 for the pinion nut that has me crying out for another pair of hands. Maybe you just need someone to help you pull it.
