Default Parking Brake Issue

I had a weird experience yesterday and wondered if anyone else has had this issue. I have a 2013 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4 door Jeep. Yesterday, I released the parking brake and took off down the street. I got about 1/4 mile and noticed that my jeep kept slowing way down when I would take my foot off the gas pedal and when I put my foot on the brake there wasn't' any movement in the pedal...it was already at the floor. I went about 1 mile before I decided that something was wrong and turned around and returned home. When I got home I noticed that my brakes were smoking hot...I mean smoke was billowing out from both sides of my jeep! I let it set for awhile to cool off. About an hour later, I got in and tried it and everything seems fine now. I'm thinking that perhaps the parking brake didn't release? Anyone have any thoughts as to what could've happened?

Sounds like the parking brake might have stuck. Since its under warranty I'd take it to the dealer and have it checked out.(might get a new set od pads) Welcome to the forum.

I had something similar on mine last week. Turned out the caliper had stuck on. New rear brakes and calipers it was.
