Take it from personal experience, a 2" body lift is NOT A GOOD IDEA! Get a 2" puck budget boost instead...

Would I need to get new shocks for a 2in puck?

You would want to add new, longer shocks or at least Shock Extensions if you wanted to do a 2" coil spacer lift. A 2" body lift will most likely more alignment/fitment/clearance issues with linkages that it wouldn't be worth it. Plus, you can gain close to that amount of clearance with flat fenders. Let me know if you have any questions!

A lot of people are against body lifts, but for most peoples needs/use, I don't see the problem in running one. Quite a few people run the 1-1.25" body lifts, but most on this site tend to stay away from the 2+" body lifts. I bought a RC 1.25" BL during their countdown to xmas sale a few years back. (wasn't really looking for one, but the great price made it an impulse buy). No issues with it, and on my dark green JK, the gap isn't bad. On lighter/brighter colors, the gap is much more noticeable, which will turn a lot of people off.

If you want a little extra clearance (without adding suspension height, and any issues it may cause), trimming the fenders or going to flats is an option. And if you do want a body lift, go for one in the 1-1.25" range, not the 2".
