Default Rear Upper Control Arm forward bolt...easy peasy.

So I decided to adjust my rear pinion angle as it was a 1.75* off. I struggled for two hours getting the passenger rear upper control arm front bolt to catch (tougher with the lowers already in place). So after a couple of quick attempts on the driver's side, I moved the control arm out of the way so I could get an idea of how for in the nut tab has to go to be aligned with the hole. I was going to get it aligned and mark the tab with a sharpie (probably should have done that before I removed them). So anyway, I found that if you set the nut right against the inside of the frame and slide up from the bottom, it gets wedged on something about 1/8" short of the bolt hole. So I took a dead blow hammer and tapped it into place, using the bolt without the control arm to make sure it was perfect. It held in place. Then I removed the bolt and attached the control arm. Less than 5 minutes total.

Enjoy!

What is the pinion angle supposed to be? I have mine set so that there is no angle on the tailshaft joint

With an aftermarket ds, it should be inline with the ds. If you're running the stock ds, it should be the same angle as the transfer case.

Bad. Stock DS uses a CV (rzeppa joint). It's designed to run at an angle, not straight on like an after market shaft. The angle of the pinion should match the angle of the t-case output. So, two parallel lines.

That would be closer to the correct angle for an aftermarket DS.

You do. Use a cheap angle finder from Harbor Freight or Home Depot. They're less than 10 bucks. At least you now know an easy way to get the upper control arm bolt in.
