Painting psp bumper any paint experts out there
So I got a bare steel brawler light I am dupicolor bedlining. I have primer on and bedliner next. I was thinking of some sort of final coat of clear to make cleaning easier. I painted my rear bumper as well but it's hard to get nice and clean looking at times.
Any ideas or bad idea? I picked up a can of clear used on wheels and a can of clear laqure. I don't want it shinny. Just easier to keep looking nice.

One of the benefits I've found of a bedlined bumper, is that anytime I've rubbed against something that took the finish off, I could just dab a little more bedliner over that spot and it blended right back in pretty well - so I'd have to imagine you might lose ease of touch up with a coat of clear on top.
From the aesthetics side, I like the matte black look of bedliner, and even a satin clear coat could potentially detract from that (I'd have to see a picture of someone whose done it).

Yeah, when you add a clear to the finish, you've just made it a little more difficult to touch up. You can get an automotive clear coat with the hardener and a flattening agent (dulls the shine of the clear) and it's going to be a much harder finish than from a rattle can. I have painted automotive and motorcycle stuff for years and on my Jeep, I would just do the bedliner. Like the other poster said, it's much easier to touch up a ding. Don't complicate things with clear coat.
