There are some FAQ's stuck to the top of this modified area that might help a little.

For the street? Stock fenders? 33x12

If you cut your fenders and don't disconnect you can offroad without rubbing up to a 33" tall tire.

Keep in mind, advertised height of "33" is what we're talking about.

Seems each JK is a bit different depending on which springs it came with from the factory.

Sent from some string and a few tin cans.

Agree with CerOf on the size. Also assuming this aftermarket wheel backspace is 4.5 or less.

I'm doing this now with 17x8 wheels, with 33x11 tires (285/70/17).

You are better off with a 17" wheel for more choices in tires and sizes.

I'm thinking of going with 17x9s and terra grappler LTs 285/70/17. The back spacing I'm assuming is the key here. Does anyone have pics of 17x8 or 9 with 285/70/17?

Stock Rubicon wheels 17x7.5 with Nitto Trail grapplers LT 285/75r17 no back spacers required, 34.1" tall tire with 2" lift.
