Default New aluminum beadlocks - 2 of the 5 are stripped!

I'm bummed. Took 3 months for these to get here and now 2 of them are stripped! One rim has 3 stripped holes - couldn't even get the bolts started with my fingers. The 2nd one has 1 hole that stripped during the torque process at 10lbs.
I bought them at my local discount tire. I'll take the one with the 3 bad holes back tomorrow. I'm thinking about trying to get the one with the single hole fixed. Maybe welded so I can drill and tap it? I would like to get them mounted soon - I can wait for the other rim to be replaced since it will be a spare.

Any ideas? Advice? Will a simple weld job work? Any other way to fix it!

Thanks guys.

Wait. They thread straight into the aluminum? There is no steel inset thread? That's shit.

Yeah - not too happy about that. Looks like raceline and walkers have the steel inserts but aev and method don't.

Half tempted to drill them all out and install inserts. Would be quite the project though....

Get your money back. I would NEVER trust an aluminum threaded beadlock.

I wouldn't weld the aluminum. I read that once you weld aluminum the area that was heated around the weld will be weakened and only gain about half it's original strength..

Trying to fix them will most likely cancel any chance of a refund. You bought them new, they are damaged. Bring them back and get other wheels period.

Try a thread chaser first, it's probably not completely stripped out. Also I picked up a few longer bolts to get them started, then replaced those with the supplied bolts once the ring got pulled in a bit. It only took a turn or so before I could use the supplied bolts.

You also might want to verify the correct torque needed for the bolt size being used. The Method "Beadlock Guide" say to use 25 Ft-Lbs on their 17" wheels. The supplied bolts are 5/16" G8 which should be torqued to 18 Ft-Lbs according the charts I found (maybe 15 w/anti-seize). They will snap at about 20...

Yeah, 20-25lbs seems like way too much to me. I've torqued everything to about 15lbs and I don't really want to go any further.

The bolts were completely stripped. I could literally slide the bolt all the way down the hole and back out without turning them.

My rims are the Method MR105's.
