JeepSWAG used to sell, and often just threw it in the box if you ordered something else, a very minimal kit to stop the hood dance. It consisted of a short piece of 1/2" (?) square tube stock, and a zip tie. The zip-tie (a wide, long, heavy duty one) held the tube stock in that gap that is between the top of the JK hood safety catch and the bottom of the strike plate under the crossmember. And it effectively stopped the hood dance. I have one on my Jeep. You could probably put one together for a buck or two. Completely hidden from view (which is why I don't have a picture to show you). When you release the hood latches, because that gap is now closed off, the hood does not pop up. You then need to reach through the grill and release the hood safety catch and the hood pops up, from whence you can then raise it fully. I checked the JeepSWAG website and couldn't find that kit anymore. But, if you're interested, contact Brett Woods directly (business owner). Or just fab up one yourself: Big zip-tie; about 4" (or so) piece of 1/2" (or so) square stock.
