Default If you're having death wobble, read this!

So I was having really bad death wobble all of sudden following my 600 mile trip from stl to minneapolis. Sometimes so violent at around 30 mph that I would have to slam the brakes and slow down to get it to stop. It felt like the front end was about to shake itself out from under the car. Also had pretty bad oscillations at highway speeds.

Took the jeep to a local dealership and he said the front tires are cupped and need to be rotated and balanced. He said "looks like your stabilizer is wore out too, but I saw you have a new kit in the back seat" I said yup just came in yesterday and I was planning on installing it today. Jeep drives like brand new, zero highway oscillations, 100X smoother on rough roads at low speeds. I know people say a stabilizer is a bandaid, well sometimes when your stabilizer (which is an essential suspension component) is shot, it's not a bandaid, it's stitches where you absolutely need stitches. Video of stabilizer is uploading now.

Details: 99k miles, 2.5" lift, 33" tires

Skyjacker dual kit - $134.00
Wheels and tires rotated and balanced -$39
$173 = death wobble fixed

I read it and what , I didn't learn a thing from it except that you think a SS fixes death wobble and on top of that a dual SS

But hey good luck to you and see you soon when you come back

My stabilizer that was on there had absolutely no pressure at all, and thus wasn't doing anything to help. I'm sure replacing it with a good single and doing the relocate bracket would have been fine, but since the only thing my jeep crawls is the highway I wanted the duals to keep everything locked in on my 70mph runs for 10+ hours at a time. You can take the info for what it's worth, but I had them check everything, ball joints, torque specs on the bolts, the bushings that I've read go bad, as well as wheel bearings. No issues.

I think you need to look and heed the sticky on death wobble by planman. You need to get shouldered bolts (not equipped) not fully threaded bolts (stick bolts) for your trackbar.

Video is private..

Anyways, I guess the most knowledgeable people on this forum and in the Jeep community are idiots because replacing your SS will NOT fix your DW. It will make a band-aid until what is actually wrong with your suspension/ drive train has a catastrophic failure. Most likely on the high way at 70 miles an hour. Many people run without SS and have zero problems. If you have a proper set up and maintained Jeep, you don't have to have a SS. What you did was waste $140 on a SS that will more than likely blow due from the extra stress.

I ran my 37's with no stabilizer at all. I must be a bonafide moron because I didn't get a touch of death wobble.

How dare you do that you should be running a quad SS setup to keep your jeep driving on the road
