Default Nitto Terra Grappler vs. Cooper AT3

I'm about to put some 285/70R/17 on. I'm looking at those two tires. I know some of you guys are running them. How are they on road mileage, off-road use, ride, etc. I use my JK as a daily driver, so it's on pavement a lot. Thanks!

Both tires are manufactured in the USA, the tire wear rating and mileage guarantee is higher on the Cooper AT3, both tires depending upon who you talk have about the same traction on road and off road, the Cooper Discoverer AT3 can be found $15-20 cheaper than the Nitto Terra Grappler.
I recently purchased the AT3's, but can't tell you much about their performance at this time.

I put the Nitto Terra's on my wife's Jeep. Size, 295 x70 x17". They perform well in everything I've run across so far. No deep mud though, need a mudder for that stuff. They are pretty quiet and showing almost no wear at 15000 miles. I recommend them.

I run the nitto, best all around tire that I have ever ran, in thick , deep sticky mud you need enough room to spin the tires to clean them out. That stuff u should have a mud tire. Highly recommend . Nice thing mine are 10 ply. Don't get me wrong they still perform very well in the mud. Great on the road.

They are pretty good on road a bit of hum but minor , seem to wear well so far . Prob 20,000 miles on them now .
Good in mud, ( ice snow , not as good ,but acceptable just the same .)

I had AT3's on my previous jeep and also on my Silverado that I traded in on that previous jeep. Best AT i've ever had. I had 45K on the AT3's that were on my silverado when I sold it to get my previous jeep. They still looked almost new. I rotated every oil change and the guy at Blacks Tire said they would dry rot before they wore out at that rate.

Off road they did as good or better than any AT i've ever had. If it weren't for me needing an MT, i'd have a set on my current jeep.

I ran a set of 295/75/16 terra grapplers. Good tire both onroad and on my normal mountain trails. Sidewalls held up better than the bfg and procomp at's I have run in the past. I thought they rode fine, but a lot will be personal opinion and depend on the load rate you get, and the psi you run them at.
