Default Rear Axle housing difference in Rubi44 and non-Rubi44

Hey guys.

I have a friend who has a bent axle tube on his Rubi rear D44. He's looking at a housing out of a sport, but I'm doing some research for him and have been told that since the Rubicon ring gear is larger, so is the carrier, axle shafts, etc... Wanting to know if his Rubi internals will fit into a stock D44. I would think the carrier fits differently since aftermarket lockers have different models for Rubi vs non-rubi. Tell me I'm right

Sport level JKs don't have D44s on either axle. Are you sure that what you are looking at is the size you are looking for?

I'll bet the people at Dynatrac will give you the full story on that. (There won't be any going back and forth like between posters here.)

I know all of the specs on stuff, just needing to know if the pinion will fit the same due to different ring gear size and if the carrier mounts are different.

I'm 97% sure on it, just need someone to confirm it.

Wrong...Some 07 jks had a d35 rear...

To the op i know the splines are different hence the rubis have larger axle shafts that would also mean a different carrier...Ring gear I would think is the same in the rear size wise...

And some early 07s had a rubicon D44 with 35 spline axles, 4.10 larger rings, just no locker....

That slipped my memory. Only first 6 months on both of those. Never seen a JK D35 around here... feel sorry for the poor bastards who got screwed by that! (Blew up a 35 in my MJ this morning...)

Bought it last Thursday and loving it. About to swap to stock JK axles (actually the one in question in OP) once I confirm my questions.
