Default 2.5 inch teraflex coil lift with 1inch spacers

I have a 13 jk and have a 2.5 inch teraflex coil lift. Ordered some 5100s but went for the shocks for 3.5 inches because I will replace my lift down the road for a larger one , instead of replacing the shocks I ordered the 1 inch coil spacers from teraflex also I wanted to know what kind if any problems I should be prepared to run into with 3.5 inches of total lift height.

Well, your coil springs might fall out or get misaligned.

Why is that , is the length of the shock too long? Should I have gotten a larger coil spacer?

I had the same setup for a while. The ride was definitely hard. I also found that I had issues keeping the springs in place when I had extreme articulation.

Length of shock and coil size should be matched. Not saying they will always fall out, but mine did once and misaligned on several occasions.

Interesting I wonder if a larger coil spacer would solve that, I was told the limit is 3.5 anything over I'd have to replace the front drive shaft considering the price of a drive shaft and the coin in my checking account I wanted to hold off on the drive shaft as long as possible

I ran stock drive shafts for quite a while. I did have issues with the front DS hitting the transmission (which tore the boot). I would go with an adjustable track bar if you haven't already.

Ok thank you I don't mind replacing the DS down the road but not now, the issue of the spring falling out though is one that concerns me deff don't want that too happen on the trail I wonder if it can be avoided or fixed.

Start with figuring out what all the different components do, and at what heights people start taking corrective actions.

Drive shafts - depends on model, actual lift height, shock length, disconnected or not, flexing offroad vs running over speedbumps, whatever else. Common sense says that going taller means a shorter lifespan, but who knows when or if. Some people here have had to replace at 2.5". Others are fine at 4" or more.

Caster - did you notice flightier handling when you went up 2.5"? It gets worse as you go taller. If/when you find that you want to correct it, what is your plan?

Brakelines - In addition to longer shocks giving the coils an opportunity to drop out, you could also be putting the full weight of the axle/tire on the brakeline. What is your plan?

Steering correction - as you go taller, the drag link and trackbar sit at steeper angles. Generally the 3.5-4" range is where people start thinking about this. Your plan?

Bumpstops - might help to keep the longer shocks from over-compressing and blowing out.

Whatever else I forgot...

I changed the brake lines to extended steel brake lines when I did the 2.5 lift all four and as far as track bar and bump stops I have what came with the 2.5 kit , everything on the rig is what came with the 2.5 I was wondering if I had to change anything to install that one inch puck. Track bar and DS can and will be changed down the road but before I take my baby apart in my driveway I wanted to know if I'm gonna run into any problems.
