Default Anyone have the Warn Premium winch hook?

Does anyone have the Warn Premium winch hook? I'm looking to replace the hook on my winch as it's rusting. And $55 seems like a pretty good deal for a forged steel hook.

Hooks are inherently weak. Check out Factor 55. They make several products that are designed, tested, and manufactured in the US. I have the Flat Link myself. And its Aluminum.

For $40 you can get this hook from jeep swag that rates over 28,000 lbs. in my humble opinion the factor 55 is an overpriced piece of jewlery!! Sorry if anyone disagrees, but I can't see paying that kind of cash for a pretty piece of aluminum.

If the link above does not work,, just go to jeep swag.

Prolink here as well. I'll pay the extra money just so I don't have to attach a hook to something on my bumper. Parking somewhere with a lot of crime? Cinch the prolink in nice and tight. Anyone tries to steal the winch and they will take it right to the face

Since you need to replace it, I recommend your choice of safety thimble (Factor 55, etc). A hook can get sucked right through the fairlead opening with your hand attached. A safety thimble won't fit. I have a Tough Stuff synthetic line and it came with the safety thimble ...

No offense Mark (I love your posts),,, but if someone is dumb enough to hurt themselves with a ridiculously slow moving winch hook,, they deserve it!! I would also consider that person so lacking in common sense that I would not want them on the trail with me! A winch isn't exactly a band saw!!
