I recently bought my 2014 Jeep unlimited Polar Edition and love it, obviously! But I've had it for two months ish and already put 5000 miles on it. It's my DD and obviously have fun with it when I'm not working but seems like at this rate I'm going to put like 25000 on a year. I don't care how much I put on it or anything but my concern is having to do the maintenance on it. How long does all of your engines last or just parts in general before replacing so I'm aware?

Like I said it's my DD and will change the oil and rotate tires every 5k and will do my inspections and all on schedule just wasn't sure when I will start to see wear on the important parts like engine and tranny and all that.

 

Be aware answers will be all over the place because a lot of us push our Jeeps hard. I have 146K miles on my '07. The EGR sensor went bad. Cracked an exhaust manifold. Throwout bearing died. Replaced unit bearings--twice! Front main seal replaced. Front axle seals replaced. Rear main seal needs to be replaced. Ball joints replaced. Twice. Went with Synergy the second time. But when you run through mud, rocks, dirt, rivers, quicksand, sand dunes, you've got to expect things to break. If you drive yours like a car, you should get much better reliability.

 

47,500 trouble free miles out on my 2012 JKU sport in the last 2.5 years. 3.73 rear, manual trans. I have lifetime warranty as I typically keep my vehicles until they have around 180,000 miles on them.

 

54k on my 2007 , been great to me so far after all I done to it

 

My ball joints were done @ 10k miles. Im at just under 20k now and so far thats the only thing that has worn out. Have bent a rear axle and broke a front. They are really soft metal so they were replaced with chromolys. This was all with the stock rubi tires.

 

I see alot of posts about the ball joints, but they are in a position where every time you run over something and flex the suspecion, the ball joint is used. after seeing all those posts I have come to the personal conclusion that when you swap out the first set of used up ball joints, upgrade them .

a side note, 5k miles is fine for oil, even too soon for some of the synthetic oils available, but might be a bit too long between tire rotations, depending on tread and and the rubber used in your tires. Alot of posters on the various jeep forums are rotating anywhere from every 1500-3500 miles, and make sure you do a full 5 tire rotation to evenly wear on the spare.
