Well I'm looking to get rid of the Schwinn size tires on the x. Don't want to really go nuts with a wheel/tire combo so I'm thinking of picking up a set of Rubi wheels/tires or should I just get new tires for the stock wheels. Both would probably be around the same cost. Any input from anyone?

Well the stock tires on my rubi looked alright after I put some 1.5" spacers on. I think it gave it a more aggresive look. Came just about even with the fenders. But I would just say just replaceing the rubber would be a cheaper prospect since you don't have toget a whole set of wheels also.

Spidertrax spacers and new tires would look good. The Rubis are load range E and will not ride as nice as what you have if ride is a concern. If you rockcrawl the E's may be better for you. Good luck.

You can buy a complete set of steel wheels for about the same cost as a set of quality spacers, so I'd just get some zero offset wheels and buy new 32"-33" tires for them. For 33s, you might need to length your bumpstops a bit.

if you like the rubicon tires/rims...i'd go with them and buy them "slightly used" from someone off of the forum or on ebay.

you will be able to get five for under 1250 shipped i'd think.

otherwise, you will pay around 1250 for 5 new tires anyways....without new rims.

but if you want bigger tires than 32"...then just buy new tires!

I can get 5 32's cheaper then retail. Which is why I ask. I can probably get them for 700-800 or I can always hunt on ebay and see what's up there for tires. There is always a deal to be found.

The stock Rubi tires/wheels are a great economical replacement for stock. Especially if you can find'em local and don't have to pay shipping. Their ride is very comparable to the Sahara 18's. They are smooth and make no noticeable road noise. I would still be driving mine if I didn't get so aggressive on a face on Metal Masher at Moab.
