Thoughts on re-gearing with 35's
Hi Guys,
I have a JKS about to install my 3" inch BDS kit and slappig on those wonderful 35's. I know im going to feel a little power loss due to the bigger tires, what kind of gears should i switch to gain back some of the power feel? and do they different gearings for my front D30?
Thanks for all the help,
Will post my rig when i get the lift on

Plenty of threads on here man so i suggest doing some research with the search function. Also more info on exactly what Jeep you have will help others give you a better opinion.
For me see sig for info on Jeep but im going with 4.88s. Mine is Auto

Gearing will vary by specific engine and transmission, by physical location and use, by model and added weight and actual tire size, by personal opinion and preference, by ...
Start by filling in a bunch of information.
Then go up to the top of this modified area, open the FAQ's, and scroll down to the RPM Charts. Measure the tires (actual measured height, not mfg spec!) and plug in some numbers. This will give a decent indication of where you will end up with the various ratios, but does not really take all of the variables into account. It is just one tool to help you figure out what you want.
And then, as noted above, this question is asked on a daily basis, so there are about a bajillion other threads to search on and read through for opinions if you don't get enough responses here.

My two cents... I have the stock 3.21s and just jumped to 35s. I honestly don't think it's that bad at all for daily driving and I've wheeled it twice with no issues either. Eventually I'll regear but it's not the end of the world like some make it out to be.
I do have a 2013 with the 3.6 and an auto, so I'm sure that helps me out a lot.

Give us some information on the year, model and transmission of your jeep. (3.8's have different needs than 3.6's. 3.8 autos have different needs than 3.8 manuals). The current gear ratio. (d30's with 3.21 gears need an extra part). Where you live and the types of driving you do. (at elevation driving up and down mountain passes vs sea level with completely flat roads. Lots of freeway time at 80+ vs rarely get over 50 and lots of offroad time, etc). Hard to give any meaningful responses with zero information to go on.
