Will the 6L80 transmission from an Escalade fits to an Silverado LY6 engine ? both from the same year.

Yes. You will need to replace the flexplate with a 1/2 ton flexplate and remove the spacer if one is present. You may need to run shorter flexplate bolts if your engine has a spacer.

Then you will need to flash the 6l80 with the vin # from the LY6 using GM SPS. The LY6 was made from 2007-2009, 2007-8 had some odd operating systems, 2009 is easier to work with, but the intake and MAP sensors are different between 2008 and 2009.

2010-2013 6.0 L96's are pretty much compatible with 2010-2013 6l80's too.

I should mention the LY6 must have come with a 6l90 for the software to be compatible.

 

Thx Robbie, do you recommend on of the gen.4 6.2 ltr engines above the LY6 , I mean is it easier to work with your basic kit want that's what I will gone use.
And do you have an adress to find a good engine, I live in Eu. and here they are hard to find for good prices.
Do you need the engines and Transmission in you're shop for make them work together or only the comp.

 

I was searching for a 2008 LY6 and a 2008 6L80.
But I prefer to find a engine what come together with the 6L80 , but than it will be the 6.2.

 

Must the LY6 come with the Original 6L90 or can it be from a different engine.
The L96 must also come with the 6L90 ??
Maybe than it's easier to go for the L92 or L94 they have Original the 6L90.

The LY6 and L96 are heavy duty truck engines and come equipped with the 6l90 transmission.

The 6l80 and 6l90 share the same T43 controller so it makes it easy to run either transmission.

If you get a 5.3 or 6.2 you'll get a 6l80 from a half ton truck/suv. If you get a 6.0 you need to source a 6l80 from a compatible truck

We like the 6 liter engine, 380 ft lbs torque, runs on regular gas and costs half of a 6.2.

 

We have found the newer the better, with the 6L80. We have been doing more and more LS swaps.
