P0480 Diagnotic help? Stuck in Colorado
So, I'm on vacation in Colorado, climbing the San Juans and I get the P0480
error. I've read and read, but haven't found exactly my scenario.
07 JKU Sport, lifted, geared, super charged
Radiator fan spins freely by hand.
Radiator fan spins when JKU idles long enough to hit the straight up position
on the indicator.
Driving less than 2 miles without the Air Conditioner on breaks the associated
60 amp relay (which I previously thought to be a fuse). So it appears that the AC
has nothing to do with it.
Running the heater on full blast effectively cools the engine, but driving back to
Texas like that is out of the question. There's a jeep dealer in nearby Cortez,
and possibly one in Durango, probably run by great people. But I'd sure hate
to get taken by a "screw the out of towner" mindset.
A little help anyone?
Thanks!!

the P0480 is your cooling fan. It could be the 60 amp fuse or relay but chances are its the motor of your fan. This can happen if you are mudding or crossing a creek. There is a thread on the forum. Good luck
Just because the fan is running doesn't mean that its OK. The fact that the 60A relay trips indicates that the fan motor is drawing too many amps.
You can try blowing compressed air into the fan motor windings to see if it removes any dirt or dust that is causing it to overheat and trip the relay.
If this doesn't resolve the problem then it is probably time to replace the fan motor.
Swapping out the fan motor/shroud assembly is not difficult.
They are available on Rock Auto $70-160.

Relay changed same error still there's any way to fix that I run the fan via OBDJSCAN both high low speed working
