Default Used lift kit concern

I've come across a Rubicon Express 2.5" w/mono-tube lift for sale from a '14 Rubicon, with only 8k miles for $375 (neg). Owner says it has only been on two mild trails, and the Jeep looks immaculate. Is it common practice to install a used lift? Are there any concerns? Other than the obvious; damage, incomplete, etc.

If it only has 8k on it and you can't see any obvious problems you should be fine. Just check and make sure the shocks are not leaking, and get a complete kit and you should be fine.

Check for visual damage/wear and leaking shocks then check parts against the list http://www.rubiconexpress.com/aux_in...1.pdf&line=R/E to make sure all parts are present. No real risk past that although I'm not a fan of "alignment plates". You could always add LCAs later to replace them and give you more adjustability if you wanted.

I got my Teraflex 2.5" lift used. The guy had it on his Jeep for (what he said) about 1500 miles. I looked at the shocks for signs of bad damage and leaks. It showed signs of use, rust and what not but it installed and runs like a champ. But for 1/5 the cost I believe it was worth it.

Oh, I'm digging the price! Just wondering how common this is. Thanks for the feedback.

Since cams require the brackets to be notched, my guess is that the original owner will not be removing them. So ff815, if that is correct, you might want to look in to adding some form of caster correction if you find the steering to be too flighty.

True IF the owner even used them and/or knows they need to remain after the fact.

IMO, the only right way to accomplish the caster change is adjustable CAs, 9/16" bolts and use http://www.teraflex.biz/downloads/dl...structions.pdf
