Default how much drag link rotational movement is ok?

I have a Currie drag link. Had the cartridges replaced in both ends earlier this year due to the boots ripping and a clunk developing in the pitman arm end cartridge. The rotational movement was pretty tight to start out but has been increasing as the months go by and I haven't wheeled it(shame on me). There is now about an inch of rotational movement. How much rotational movement is too much? The flexible boots don't seem to last long.

Thanks

Not certain how you're measuring one inch, but mine has quite a bit of rotation in it. I swapped out the TRE boots for a couple of these and seem to be having better luck with them not splitting.

These are the ones I have on my tie rod and they are lasting better than whatever came with it originally:

I also tried these on the tie rod, but they rattled annoyingly ...

Those currie links suck I ran them for a while and they did the same thing. Those offset ends and the heavy weight of the links makes those expensive TRE's wear fast and they get floppy and destroy that grease boot. I switched to a synergy model and have had no issues with it and saved quite a bit of weight over the currie. Swapped out the tie rod for the ruff stuff kit and have been happy with it.

I completely agree with this. I expect someday I'll change to the Synergy products.

I was trying to think of another word to describe the movement and "sloppy" is perfect! lol. I will probably replace it with Synergy and try that out.

Thanks for the replies
