Default 5 Questions from a Newbie

I have to pick the brains of the experienced Jeep owners here and ask a few questions that may seem really stupid but I don't know the answers. Thanks for any helpful information.

1. What's is the best suspension setup for a 2012 JKUR that just likes to hit speedbumps and stuff at high rates of speed? I have a stock setup right now and everytime I hit a speed bump at 40 mph or higher I hear a pop sound come from my rear shocks. The front shocks handle it like a champ but the rear sound like they bottom out. I told you these questions sound lame but please humor me.

2. Whenever I'm going over seriously washboarded roads at 20+ mphs my JKUR sounds like it is going to rattle apart and it gets bounced all over the road, is there a way to have it just smoothly take those bumps and absorb the impact without throwing me and my youngerns all over the cab?

3. I have noticed that the previous owner put 33" Goodyear Duratracs on 17" American Outlaw rims that look sick, however when I am going through deep ruts or over rocks I hear a rubbing noise, it has only been when I have the sway bar disconnected, do I need a lift to alleviate the rub or do I have other options?

4. Has anyone tried the Diablosport Trinity and if so, what will it do for my ride?

5. I don't like the rpm setting at which my engine shifts out of 1st, it always stays in first too long in my opinion and revs to 4000 plus rpm before shifting into 2nd. How can I change this in a low-cost way?

Thanks to all and I look forward to hearing from y'all.

Before we start here. Its a 2012 JKU Sport - How many miles/kms?

1) From the sounds of it you're not looking to life the truck if at all and want to keep it as stock as possible. With that is mind, simply replace the shocks with some Rancho 9000's and it will improve your bumps and washboard roads.
A) If you have more than 30,000 KM's then you should look into getting your ball joints done and that will also fix your issue on washboard roads. Bigger tires make ball joints wear very fast.

2) Same as 1.

3) You can get Spidertrax Wheel Spacers - 1.5" 5x5 bolt patter hub centric. These also are hard on the ball joints so i would recommend getting them done. I use Synergy ball joints. Alloy USA is also good and rebuildable.
A) You may also need to extend your bump stop if your tire is hitting the under side of the wheel well. At this point i bet you're hitting the spring perch so wheel spacers may fix that for ya quickly. Only way to tell is to get a fork lift and lift one side until the tire contacts something then measure for bump stop extension.

4) I have a Superchips Flashpaq and it will fix your tire size so your speedometer is corrected and your mileage is also then corrected going forward. It also has tunes for higher octane gas that nets more power from the engine and also a fuel eco tune for better mileage. I have not tested it but im running an 87 tune right now. It also removes all the throttle response lag and makes the gas pedal very touchy.
A) It can also fix your axle gearing if you upgrade in the future, tire pressure sensors, and activate lockers n such if you have them. Just go to the site and read about them its very straight forward on what they do.

5) A tuner will also fix your shift points in an auto.

Welcome to Jeeps!

For going fast, you want coilovers. $$$ Cheaper option is some soft shocks. Look for the thread called My opinions on lifts or something like that, lots of information on differences.

Airing down your tires is going to give you best results for washboards- I run 32 daily 10-13 for crawling, and ~20 for pre-running.

I don't mean to sound snarky, but am afraid I will. You bought the wrong vehicle. A Jeep, with its solid front axle, is not meant for fast speeds over rough roads. Independent front suspension (IFS) is better for that. Solid axles excel at extreme articulation (think rock crawling, with heavy emphasis on crawling), where IFS usually does not. A couple changes you might make, though:

1. Check your tire pressures. Lower will be better. I run 20 PSI when driving rough roads.

2. Disconnect your front sway bar. If you don't have a Rubi, you can do do in a few minutes with a couple wrenches. Or just install a set of quick disconnects.

3. Replace your shocks with the Rancho XL9000s. These were highly rated by "Overland Journal" a few months back. They are adjustable, letting you soften the ride.

4. As for lifts: Watch the Teraflex video on selecting springs. It is way more complicated than what some folks may say (get linear or get triple rate or whatever), and depends a great deal on factors outside of the lift manufacturer's control (such as how heavy your Jeep is and how that weight is distributed).

TeraFlex Tech: Jeep Coil Springs Hype: http://youtu.be/V_Qp7L_eTqU As for shift points I will be snarky since I detest driving autos: Drive a manual. ;-)

Honestly, I was just teasing with that remark. Okay, I do detest driving autos, but it's your Jeep. I did order mine built because I was willing to wait for exactly what I wanted--mostly the color was difficult to find on lots (Jeep Green).

It sounds like you are primarily unhappy with the ride. I am with a few others who have said,, air down your tires over rough terrain! This will make a huge difference. Secondly,, If it is the suspension you are unhappy with,, then attack that with everything you can. First,, try some of the newer triple rate springs. Also,, I would not settle with Rancho shocks for the high quality ride you are looking for. You need to step up to a fox or king adjustable, reservoir type shock. The high end shocks will make all the deference.
After you get the ride figured out,, then move on the the next improvement for your needs

As to the "bouncing all over the cab" I would suggest buckling up your seat belts.....
