Inexpensive, meaning you are looking at spacers instead of coils, right? A spacer is pretty much a spacer (TF's rear spacers are nice since they have that coil keeper prong), so compare the extra components that come with the kit. Shock extensions, sway bar links or extensions to keep the swaybars level, maybe brackets for the brake lines, maybe some form of caster correction, maybe trackbar brackets to center the axles.

Just depends on your definition of inexpensive, and your tolerance for any/all of the issues caused by lifting.

It depends on what you mean by inexpensive. I have a 2.5" Rubicon Express coil lift with mono tube shocks on my 2010 2dr that I felt was a great price. Teraflex is also a great buy for the price. That being said there are plenty of other lifts out there for far less but remember you get what you pay for.

I've seen too many people looking for an "inexpensive" kit and have issues. Save your money for a complete lift if possible.

Having tried many different setup myself, I'd say start with a basic quality kit, and upgrade as your budget permit it.

I have ran 2" coil spacers, stock shocks, not bad, but no gain in suspension travel, only higher ground clearance.

Then I switched to a 3" zone offroad, still not bad, but too soft for a heavy jeep, and tend to sag over time, like many cheap lift kits.

Now I'm on a 2.5 max travel from rock krawler and I'm in love with it, incredible quality, comfort, offroad performance, etc.! so if you want to start with something cheaper in price, go with the 2.5 stock mod, and upgrade the arms when you can.

And on a side note, the RK 2.5 gives me a nice 4" on my 2 door.

This. Save and go with a quality lift. If on a budget start with a Rock Krawler stock mod and build it from there. That is what i did, it has worked out extremely well.
