I have two myself. Had them since my 2010. I do lots of highway driving. Keeps radiator bug free too. I also have used one on the trail to avoid pin striping the hood or grill.

Mine doesn't lay perfect on the driver side. I never really put any effort in because everything is covered. Both of mine do what you are describing as well as my parents wrangler
