Default I need a new transmission ... and advice

So it looks like my clutch assembly needs replacing. The Jeep stealership wants $1,700 to replace it so I was looking at a local mechanic with good yelp ratings to take care of it.

My only concern with him though is ... transmissions are very complicated and I'd rather have somebody with a ton of experience replace it ... and I'd like at least a 3 to 5 year warranty on it.

Any suggestions? Would AAMCO be a good place to take it?

Couple of things.. Never trust reviews.. yet I write them.. go figure.. anyway.. $1,700 smacks is about right.. and personally I'd use aamco service before the dealer.. may sound bad of me.. but just one of those companies that's been around and we've used them in the past.

well ive been to the guy before and he does a great honest job and he even does a lot of celebs cars such as Tim Allens.

I just like the idea of a warranty and AAMCO just quoted me $700 to repair it with parts included with a year warranty so thats a no brainer.

With all the overhead a franchised shop has, they are probably using a $9 an hour mechanic. Rarely do I ever go with the cheapest quote.
