Default Tire carrier

Currently have 35" wheels and leave my spare in the trunk. Any suggestions for a carrier that's affordable and doesn't involve changing the entire bumper? (It doesn't fit over the bumper now with the stock carrier and I realize a spacer will work, but not sure If the tire will destroy my hinges) HELP

I'm running the teraflex hinge and carrier and love it. If you shop around the price for both runs around 600 I think. It's the best opt2 without changing the bumper.

I use the Bestop/Smittybilt Oversized tire carrier... Works perfectly! $130.00 on Amazon

Yeah? I'm a little skeptical at that price point, but I'll take your word for it! I was saving for the Teraflex solution, but at $130 it's worth trying that. Thanks for the post and video!

I was skeptical at 1st too. I read some people have had flexing bent up tailgates and others that have used this for years with no issues what so ever. Because of the price and ease of installation I thought it was worth a try. The moment I do get signs of problems it gets taken off. I only added 25lbs so I highly doubt I will have problems.

I run the teraflex setup myself and an aftermarket bumper.

I came across this recently and thought it was interesting. Put the spare on when you need it for road trips or wheeling but leave off for daily driving. Does require a receive hitch though. Might no be as cost efficient. Just a thought. HG Series | TireGate.comTireGate.com
