RK 2.5 max travel?
Hi everyone, Iv been looking into the RK and i called the best shop in my town they dont sell RK stuff and said they dont like to install this lift but they will, I was sad! they mentioned caster angles. and knocked their springs for not being progressive rate, i told him they are and also offer triple rate. and of course said this kit is death wobble bound? anyway i plan to slowly build my JK Lift, tire, gears, then finish with the rest of the kits upgrades. I normally do my own work, but i want this kit dialed in by the pros, does a lift void my whole warranty or just the parts that are effected and replaced? i only care about my engine/trans/ tcase doesnt matter, when funds allow i'll hunt down a rolled Rubi 4.1.

Have you ever thought that they might not be the best shop in town? What's makes them the best? Sounds to me they have no clue what they're doing...
Castor angles are easy to adjust, especially with the new adjustable arms that are included in most RK lifts.
If you've completely restored your CJ7 as your profile suggests, installing a lift on a JK is child's play. Rock Krawler will supply you with instructions even! If you can read and turn a wrench I highly suggest doing it yourself. It'll most likely be 10x better than the "pros" you're dealing with.

Sounds to me whoever you talked to is an idiot. Do they push their own brand of lifts? Shops that do that tend to knock every other lift out there because the line they make money off of is the best. Yada yada yada...
Personally I'd find a different shop to deal with immediately when I find I'm being handed bullshat right from the beginning.

Sounds to me he doesn't know what the hell he's doing. RUN far away from that shop.
Caster angle ? Really. Any kit with adjustable CA's, cam bolts or drop brackets adjust caster angle.
Rock Krawler only offers triple rate progressive coils 1.5,2.5 and 3.5. They are indeed a great riding coil IMO
Death wobble bound ?
Please ask him what the main cause of DW is and why RK Is DW bound and not whatever crap they push ?That makes 0 sense.
I will say this .. If you do go with a more complete RK (X-factor) lift kit with longer rear CA's. Choose a shop carefully. I've seen way to many shops screw up setting up the control arms, Bowing the coils and other issues.

I think Rock Krawler is small enough that many shops are not familiar with them and he might have had Rough Country on the brain. I know some very capable guys who have not heard of them. I sure like how my RK triple rate coils handle on and off road.
A lift should not affect your warranty on anything but the suspension but I would not put it past a dealer to try and tell you it voids the radio warranty along with the seat belt warranty. I think they could have a case for drive shafts and even differentials and axles etc. It would be a stretch for engine and trannies altho many will try I am sure.

Let me guess the guy you talked to has a "big jeep" on 285 and a shitty rough country lift and has been "mudding" a whole 2 times... If I were you i wouldn't go back to that shop because it sound like their just in it for the $$$.

As one of the previous posts state. Installation of a Max Travel is straight forward. If you go to the Quadratec page for this lift you can download the install instructions. Read through it and decide if its within your ability. The RK Max Travel only replaces the LCAs so its pretty simple to install. You would need access to a welder to finish out the rear track bar bracket. That's about as complicated as it gets. All else is bolt on.
Don't forget to check brake lines, vent lines, etc for length.
