Default Superlift or Skyjacker 4" lift?

I will be adding a 4" lift to my JK in the next few months, but I can't decide whether to go with Superlift or Skyjacker. Any thoughts or personal experiences? Also, if you already have a 4" lift from Superlift or Skyjacker, approximately how much did you pay for installation? I know that it varies from town to town and shop to shop, but I'm just looking for a ballpark.

Thanks

I'm partial to the superlift too. Very good "bang for the buck" and easily upgradeable later if you feel the need.

mkjeep,

Did it really take 17 hours? Was it a difficult install?

I've got the 4" Skyjacker lift. I think it is more like a 3" lift. No problems so far. A buddy and I installed it in 5 hours.

5 hours sounds a hell of a lot better than 17

Good luck getting the uppers anytime soon.
I ordered front and rear upper and lower, got the lowers in and 2 months later were told that the uppers were back in R&D stage. I got this news last week from superlift themselves, so I'm sticking with their lowers but going FT uppers for now.

Default Skyjacker experience

Here''s my post from before:

Yes regret Skyjacker 4" lift:

I bought the 4" skyjacker kit with plus drop pitman, shocks, stabilizer, and 3/4" spacers.
Had an off-road shop install. Results were:
Both axels off center by 1", resulting in tire rub when flexed.
Caster angle at 2.7 & 3.2 degrees, resulting in steering wandering all over the road, ESP coming on, etc...
Pinion angle at 10 degrees with rear drive shaft at 20 degrees, resulting in a drive shaft that was destined to blow up on a 2 door (see other posts on this).

Bought the following to remedy all of the above:

Full traction adjustable upper & lower front & rear control arms, plus adjustable track bars front and rear.
Currie weld in track bar brackets.
JE REEL HD 1350 drive shafts.

This brought a new meaning to Just Empty Every Pocket!

Moral of the story, if you're going to 4" and want things set right, get adjustable stuff (IMHO) and put it in yourself. Also David at Northridge was great! Also Eddie was super helpful on info. for a novice on installing this stuff!

PS Skyjacker parts are for sale. Only 100 miles on them.

Now that FT parts are in things are awesome. Caster at 8 degrees, pinion set to 20 degrees to match rear drive shafts.
