I just got a new Sahara Unlimited. Tires I won't be swapping out until I need them. Along with that will come a lift. Aside from those two items, what would your first update be on a brand new Jeep?

What is your plan? Offroad, Mall Crawler, Show Jeep? It all depends what you want to do with it.

If you're planning to go off road then recovery gear is an absolute necessity.
If that's not applicable then I'd say bumpers!

Some off road but a definite daily driver and part time kid transport.

I would go with a combo sliders/steps for the kids. Unless you like the factory ones.

While it is still stock, I would take it offroad a few times just to check out its true ability already. Too many people think you need a 4 inch lift with 44 in. tires to have a good offroad vehicle.

Take it out and test its limits a bit. Then go from there. Make your modifications as you feel they are necessary. Many mods people make aren't needed and end up being a waste of money.

There are plenty of people on this forum that have very little lift, if any, and tires that aren't much taller than stock. They have just armored the crap out of the under side and they do very well offroad. It is all in what you want to do.

But like I said, test its abilities and go from there with what you think you need/want.

I just got my 13 JKUR in July...the wife insists for now it should remain fairly stock...that being said...after installing the Spiderweb Shade..probably the best thing I've done so far...lol...

I started with 1.5" wheel spacers by Rugged Ridge...

Then we cut the bumper adding the Vertically Driven end caps to keep it looking nice...

The Bushwhacker hood protector is worth well worth it! That forward edge of the hood takes a beating...
