Default Found an interesting spot to hide a vhs tape-sized object in my JK

So I needed a spot to keep my lockpicks in my jeep. Hidden well from thieves.

I found a spot under the driver's side dash up along the left side. To get your hand to it easy you kind of lean back with your lower back on the door sill and reach your right hand under the dash and up along side the left area (driver side body panel). There is a piece of metal dash support that runs along side of the inside wall of the jeep's body panel (I think). And behind it is a nice space with something blocking the bottom part. And it makes it a natural pocket. I can fit probably 3-4 sunglass cases standing upright in the "Pocket". I can fit one sunglasses case really well in the end of the pocket (pointing towards the back of the jeep) to where it is kind of hidden. It wedges in there really good behind something. It is only slightly difficult to get it out though. The support beam is near the firewall grommet that many people use to pass wires through.

Here are some pics I took (replacing the other pics I found off the net)......

In both pics I have placed a regular sized eyeglasses case in the spot.

edit: to give you a better idea on where the spot is.... it is along the side of the jeep. In the below pic is where your hand would go.... (not my jeep by the way)....

You could probably take one of those old VHS tape sleeves and stick it in there to make it more of a pocket. A great place to put something small to hide. Like say.... your wallet when you go to the beach.

To discourage anyone from sticking their hand up there and finding what you hid (very doubtful) you could stuff a bundle of wires over it. Anyone reaching in would feel a bundle of wires instead of your hidden item.

I shall be keeping my backup emergency lockout-lockpics in a sunglasses case in there.

Disregard the old pics below... I dont know how to delete them.

I believe that is where the factory amp sits if you have the upgraded sound system.

The factory amp sits right below the steering column where your knees are essentially.

If I understand the pictures correctly, the space is closer to the firewall or the side toward the panel?

Google JK lockpick. They allow you to watch dvds on your factory radio while driving. Give you the ability to add a backup camera and things like that.
