Default Clicking / Popping Sound from Rear

Good Evening everyone! I'm running a 2014 JKU Auto on a Rock Krawler 3.5 Mid Arm and Bilstein 5100s as well as a TW 1310 Front Shaft. That being said I ran into an annoying issue yesterday...a clicking / popping sound in my rear about 15 minutes into the trails yesterday. This was my first time out on the trails since the new suspension. It definitely sounds like the rear. After an examination in day light nothing appears broken...1310 front shaft is fine, rear shaft is fine, and the Jeep is brand new ( 3,000 mi ) so I don't think the U-joints are to blame. I've jumped on the bumper to re-create it but cannot do so. It is not a constant thing, it seems like more if I hit a bump and there's a little compression. It's non existing on the highway and was non stop on the trail yesterday. Don't think it's the gears because it is not consistent with every tire rotation, just with bumps etc, so I'm willing to bet something is just contacting something that it shouldn't be...just tough to diagnose by myself. I know this is even tougher to diagnose on the internet, just asking in case anyone else has had the same issue that might provide a starting point...I appreciate any thoughts! Still a great day on the trails at Rausch yesterday though!

Did you check the torque on the control arm bolts?

Yeah I have, it was all re-torqued before the trip, and is still good to go after a check this afternoon. This one has me stumped...

Check for wear marks on the springs, around track bar brackets. Some people have clearance issues with the shocks and the RK trackbar bracket on the axle. You did use the correction wedges?

Check your rear track bar relocation bracket. If it's not torqued properly it can make a popping noise.

I didn't use the wedges. I ran this exact set up ( only the 2.5 instead of 3.5 ) on my 2 Door for years and no issues. I wonder if the extra spring would call for them though. In the morning I'll give it a good wash down so I can really see everything and look at the springs and check the track bar bracket....I appreciate the help thus far! I think the noises bother me more than a total breakage of something haha.

Well with the help of daylight, I washed her down to look for rub marks anywhere and re-torqued the control arms, and rear track bar bracket...no success. Then while sitting there frustrated, something small caught my eye that I had been overlooking since I was so focused in on the TB bracket and control arms...a quick re-torque of the rear sway bar link on the driver's side and problem solved. It was right in front of my face the entire time and after a sigh of relief I didn't even care about how stupid missing that is haha. Thanks for all the help guys!

Glad to hear you found the noise! Just saw this thread and was going to suggest checking the hardware on everything not just control arms. You beat us to it!

Thanks for the response! I'm on my second RK suspension on two different builds and absolutely love them. Back to the wedges though, do y'all recommend them If I'm not having any issues. Could it turn into an issue down the line without them? Thanks, and again, love your products.

Glad you got it fixed. Didn't even think of the sway links, lol. (I don't currently have any on the rear).
