Default bucket seats in back of unlimited

Started the replacement of the rear brench seat in my unlimited this weekend and got all the fab work done. Here are some pictures of what I have done thus far.

I used the stock mounting points to the body. I removed the sliders from the seat to get more head room. Now with the front seats all the way back I have about 2" from my knees to the seat back (im 6'2"). My ladies fit a lot better back there now as well.

Very cool. I had this idea a while back, just never got very far with it yet.
Looks like its coming out nice.

I kind of hate to see what a set of black Rubicon leather seats would run from an auto wrecker.
But at least this way they can have the heated seat option they were so depressed to find out only comes on the front seat.

Happy looking young lady in the back seat seems to have plenty of leg room now.

I always love to see a good fab project.

Looks good. I did this with the Mastercraft brackets and it turned out great. I even like how you get access to the rear without having to lower the seats.

Awesome job. I want that! I HATE THE BACK SEAT. And my kids are older and say it is very uncomfortable for longer trips.

Oh. Cute family pics! What kinda of dog? shitzu? <<<<wife's response to pics

Very nice... any thoughts of adding a console between the seats? I saw that you made the frame go completely across but thought I'd ask.

Thanks Folks, had a blast doing it.
- I love a good fab project as well, the young lady is 13 and already 5'10" and still growing! So she really needed the space. + had to get ride of the excuses why we shouldn't take Dad's Jeep I saw a full set of leather seats for $600 the other day on Craig's List.

- Ive seen it done with the Mastercraft brackets and seems to work fine and its a nice bolt in approach. I just wanted to get a lot more leg room out of it and the steel for this project only cost me $32. With the front seat all the way back there was only 23.5" between it and the back rest of the bench. I now have over 28".

- My kids complained incessantly about how uncomfortable it was, so I first did the recline thing with the blocks under the stock seat which made it better but the leg room issue was not solved by that. For the wife, dog is a "Pekapoo" Pekingese Poodle mix. (Manly dog)

- No space between the seats for console as there is only about 2.5". I plan to enclose the frame in 20 gauge steel with a locking door for storage. Im also going to house my inverter in there with a 120v outlet and a couple of USB charging ports between the seats.

Brilliant idea putting an inverter in there with the array of different plug options! That'll keep the kids happy!!
