Default Click in 4wd front d/s slop

As stated I'm having a loud click while engaged in 4lo me 4hi. It's a constant click as if someone is dragging a piece of metal against a metal picket fence. Stock drive shaft with 2.5" lift and Dana 30. My driveshaft angle is fine and looks to have no defects. When I grab my driveshaft there is some side-to-side up-and-down play from the front where the yoke connects into the front axle. It's not the u joint. The pinion seal is also leaking fluid. I have recently replaced both axle shaft seals and when I put everything back into the differential I just bolted it back in. I'm not differentially inclined so I'm not sure if it was set properly. It still pulls fine and everything in 4wd but just clicks. If anyone could help I would surely appreciate it.
Thank you.

Remove the front driveshaft and engage in 4lo and see if it still happens. Then you can narrow it down to either the driveshaft or t-case.

Sort of sounds like a bad ujoint

I'm gonna give that a try. The u joint looks good. The slop is coming from the flange off the diff and its leaking from there. Anything that could cause that?

Also there's no clunk when engaging like what I've experienced before with u joints.

Doesn't that point to an install error and maybe not torquing the pinion nut?

I never removed the pinion nut though. All I did was remove brakes, hubs, axles, and then opened the diff, unbolted the 4 bolts and pried out everything, knocked out the old seals, inserted new ones and put everything back the way it was.

There should be no play what so ever in the yoke like you are describing. That could have something to do with your clicking noise and should be taken care of asap.

Agreed. I'm asking what would be the fix for this? Anything to check for or how? Anything would be very helpful. Thank you.

If the u-joint is serviceable (others have tried and I've only seen a few have any luck) it could be replaced. The stock drive shaft universal joints appear to not be easily replaced. Might be best to find a take off shaft for cheap.

The problem isn't in the u-joint. It's where the yoke connects to the differential. Right at the point where it goes into the differential there's play and it's leaking.
