Default Smittybilt XRC or XRC Atlas rear bumper??

About to purchase either the XRC or XRC Atlas rear bumper. Right now the cost difference is about $90. Just want to get some opinions from people who have either one to see if the Atlas is worth the extra money or not. Seems like I've seen a few on here being re-sold right after people get them. Pros and cons of both would be appreciated. Thanks.

I just picked up the Atlas and I did it. Mainly because like you mentioned, the price difference was negligible and for two, it was in stock at a local shop and I've heard that they're a little scarce to find or wait for quite a while. Plus, I like the fact I can add the Jerry cans later if I want without anything else, the Hi-Lift mount, and the rear lights mount.

Only con I have so far is that the last couple of letter of my license plate are covered by the tire carrier. Blah!

I have the XRC. It rattles and the bushings in the pivot seem to going. I can move the carrier about an inch by pushing on it when it's closed. Also the latch sucks! When it's raining or snowing and the latch is wet, any bump in the road makes it come undone. I tied a piece of 550 cord to the handle and to the D ring. Sucks having to untie it everytime I want to open my tailgate. I'm not happy with it but it was on there when I bought the jeep. I'm thinking of going with an HD carrier and a regular bumper set up

I have the Atlas and love it. Mine came with the latch set up perfectly which I hear is kinda rare. Opens easy, swings nice. Can take two 2-gal roto cans in the gas can mounts without issue if you leave the stock tire bumpers on the tail gate. Jack mount works well too. Only downside is that its a heavy bitch. Grease the hell out of the swing pivot pin when you install.

Chalk me up as another satisfied Atlas customer. With this on the rear you don't need a leveling kit...haha.
Same thoughts here as other posts so since prices are close why not

Not selling mine. Definately get a 2nd person to add the 100+lb tire carrier. It will help with lining up the pin. I had to replace my right rear spring with one for a 1/2" taller JKU lift kit to level out my front and rear. No issues with the latch, pin etc. The racks are great for throwing messy things in during a day of wheeling.

The Atlas bumpers are sweet - they look great and function very well.

Our Smittybilt Bumper sale just started yesterday - feel free to PM me any time for pricing while it lasts

I love my bumper. The only issue was installing the pin, I had to use a Drexel to open up the hole so the gate would close properly. I have two metal 20L jerry cans. Looks great! But I wish it came with some sort of lock for both the gate and jerry cans. I just use a lock and Metal cable. I also have the front bumper. Makes the jeep look beastly.
