Rubicon Express 3.5" superflex users
Hi all. I just purchased a used 07 Rubi Unlimited last week and have already started thinking about mods. I am interested in the RE 3.5" lift, but would appreciate some input from others who have or have had this lift...on road ride quality, off road paerformance, and would you use this same lift again if you had to do it over again. I searched the topic, but there does not seem to be too many people using this lift. Thanks in advance for all responses.
Depending on how long you set your control arms in the rear. The rear track bar relocation bracket supplied makes contact with the passenger rear shock. Possibly/most likely snap the shock under flex.
Instead of shortening the control arms like they recommend I just got an adjustable rear track bar
The only other thing I've noticed with it is the bushings for the front track bar have worn out. They have some play thus the front track bar has some movement to it.
Other then that, I'm liking it. Performs well off road and rock crawling.

i have no problems to post on mine. I like the ride on and off road.
I was worried when reading the problems about the rear shock breaking but has not happened to me. *cross my fingers
If you have the money i'd go with the long arm but i'd recomend the 3.5"

I had the 3.5" and its a good kit, I did have a few problems though.
The rear track bar relocation bracket is does not center the rear axle like it should, its too much and kicks the axle out the driver side.
Without it, the axle is too far to the passenger side...I ended up getting an adjustable Full Traction rear track bar.
The rear shocks IMO are too short for the kit, maybe they changed this since I got mine in June 07'
When I had the rear tire stuffed, on the bump stop, I still had over 3" of shock shaft showing
I ended up relocating my rear shock mounts up higher for more ground clearance and it also fixed the shock length problem, and allowed my rear axle to droop further when flexing.
I also bent the front track bar when wheeling, were the bend is at, it bent more, which caused my axle and steering wheel to go off center.
They did replace it no questions asked, I had it on my doorstep within 4 days and a return label for the bent one....good service there!
I never had any problems with the replacement track bar, other then the bushings wearing out pretty quick.
Now......I sold the kit and got the RE 4.5" long arm.....no questions about it, its a MUCH better kit!

It DOES ride nicer on the road, and rides/flexes alot better offroad

The arms are all adjustable and are huge compared to the 3.5 kit.
The front track bar is much beefier and has a superflex joint.
The kit comes with a chromoly draglink that mounts on top of the knuckle.
The kit comes with a new trans crossmember that is super strong compared to the stock one and mounts the arms up tight to the Jeep.
Did I mention it rides nicer on and offroad?

I wish I would have gotten the LA the first time around, its worth it IMO

Just some drawbacks, mainly price, driveline issues, and the permanant nature of a long arm install. My buddy builds buggies and he told me to go long arm and 37's now instead of later. Maybe I push the time frame back a few months and just go long arm out of the box.

I basically used the 3.5" kit and shocks for 7 months and sold it all for a $500 loss.
Now Im looking to get 37's when these 35's wear out, probably by the time winter gets here again.
I think I'll either need a body lift, spacers, or tube style fenders to clear the 37's though.
