Default Wheels spacer ???? Yes more!!

Just had new Pro Comp Extreme MT2's 37X12.5R17, absolutely love the look, and to be honest the new Pro Comps ride smoother and quieter on the highway then my Duratrac's did. With that being said I quickly noticed that with the added height (also running Rock Krawler 3.5 springs) my center of gravity has increased and the jeep now, although smoother, feels a bit unstable.

My question is this would wheel spacers work to widen and in effect make the jeep more stable? Or is possibly more of a steering issue, running a flipped drag link and FOX ATS.

Any thoughts ass always are appreciated.

Cheers

It's not your center of gravity. Not enough change, especially for a 4-door.

What exactly is it that doesn't feel right?

Steering feels loose, like the jeep with the slightest touch of the wheel wants to fly all over the road, something like that.

Start by getting an alignment. Sounds like the toe needs to be adjusted. New tires can make problems more obvious. Could also be the caster. Any idea what your caster is set at? That handling issue is also common with low caster.

Ironically, I don't think it is the alignment, on the drive home after install (highway) I actually got brave enough and let the steering wheel go doing about 65mph. the Jeep tracked very straight and did not wander. It just felt very loose when it came to the steering.

Appreciate the help, thought???

To answer your question, yes spacers widen your track and therefore increase stability. But it does not mean there may not be something else involved in your issue. You didn't mention what you were moving up to 37s from. If it was a big jump you may just need to get used to the difference. Perhaps it could be as simple as too high of a tire pressure being used?

The tire shop blew them up to 60 psi ? You have a drag link flip, is there a rear raised bracket as well?

No rear raised bracket, it is an adjustable JKS bar.

I moved up to the 37's from 35 Duratracs
