Default Loss of power with snorkel????

Attention all Those with snorkels!!!!! After your snorkel instal, did you notice any loss of power? I just installed the RIPP Cold air intake for snorkels and will be adding the river raider safari snorkel tomorrow or Thursday and I'm curious as to what my power is going to do... I am currently running my 2013 JKU with 35s, 3:73 gears, superchips FlashPaq, RIPP CAI....

The longer and less straight the intake path, the more drag loss there is pulling the air through it.

I don't perceive any gain or loss of power, just peace of mind.

I would think cleaner cooler air but with a lot of turns. As Ron said air likes velocity in a straighter path. I saw athread on one of the Forums where a shop had to do some tuning with a snorkel to improve power.

Agree, didn't notice anything other than a great sound when accelerating hard between 20-40mph.

I didn't notice any gains or losses. All good Edit: other than the obvious, way less dust in filter, and the jeep swims better. Deepest I've gone was up to bottom of head lights, amazingly enough the doors didn't leak! My wife was totally freaked thoughid you're not going through water or in really dusty conditions, no point in a snorkel

If there's no benefit, what's the point?

Seems more people report an increase in performance with CAI if they also do the exhaust.
