Default Not just another lift and wheel question

Well kind of I just have a question on why all BB spacer or coil lifts 2 to 2.5 inches, they all say if running stock rims must use spacers...I ask why I have a zone 2 inch spacer kit and I usually have my pro comps 33 x 10 so I never thought about it but winter time I switched back to my stock 17 inch wheels with my Duratacs I haven't had any turning issues so all I can think of is they want a wider stance to offset the additional height I assume they are afraid of rollover liability is my logic correct or am I missing something ?????

Partly as a liability cya, and partly because the reason most people slap a lift on is so they can run bigger tires. A taller/wider tire on stock rims has a better chance of rubbing something. (swaybar links, frame, control arms, air dam, whatever). Since they can't know the specific setup every person has, or how comfortable they will be driving a lifted jeep, they add a catch-all telling people to move the tires out...
