Default Skid Plates and Warranty

Will skid plates void your warranty?

I am looking at armoring up my underside of my '13 JK Sport with Skid Row's full compliments of skid plates, Rough Country Diff Skids and lower control arm skids. So I should be able to turtle over a lot of stuff with little to worry about. It is the only way besides larger tires (already went from stock 29" to 32" Sahara wheels) and a lift that I can figure how to go off-roading without voiding the warranty. Just unsure with all of the armor on the bottom, and some rock rash if Jeep will say it was abused or was a modification that would void the warranty? Thoughts?

I really try to be gentle on the trail since this is a DD, but some times that mud hole and rocky trail is just calling.

If you are worried about it, I would ask your dealer. Every dealer is a little different, some are more mod friendly than others. When I bought mine they said any lift 4 inches or less was fine with the warranty as long as it was properly installed. I have heard roomers of other dealers saying different. I can't see adding protection to the Jeep voiding the warranty under any dealer's standards.

Happy Jeeping.

My dealer told me as long as THEY installed it it would be covered.... Not sure if it had to be genuine mopar parts, but that's what they said. I for one am not rich enough to pay dealer prices for either.

I wouldn't trust any dealer techs to install aftermarket parts.

I don't use the dealer for anything unless it's a recall. I'm not even sure I would trust them to say putting aftermarket items would void warranty. They talk in circles a lot... If get it on writing of they do say they will still cover you under warranty.

Skids aren't like most things that void warranty. They can't cause faster wear and they don't change how anything functions. I couldn't see how they would void a warranty, but then I have never seen eye to eye with a stealership.

Depends on the dealer on any mods. The dealer that sold me my 2014 JKU told me any mods would void it. A dealer 45 mins away said they would do the work. Just have to shop around for a mod friendly shop

Just like everyone else has said it all depends on the dealer, mine said it was fine but I have heard of a lot of horror stories from others about dealers
