Default Issues after AEV Spacer lift install

Hey everyone,

I finished up the install of the 2" AEV spacer lift on my '14 JKU this past weekend, now I seem to have an issue.

When I start out and shift in the lower gears (1st and 2nd manual trans.) I seem to hear a more pronounced clunk from the front end when the clutch lets all the way out. I went through all the torque specs and everything seems spec'd.

Wondering if I'm missing some trick? Should I go back over everything again and re-torque?

-2014 JKU
-Manual 6 speed trans
-3.73 gears
-AEV 2" Spacer lift

Check your clearance between the driveshaft (shaft between front and rear axles) and the exhaust pipe crossing over.
This clearance is reduced w/any lift.
You may need Exhaust Spacers if this clearance is almost nil.

I have installed 4 of these and hard to believe there would be enough lift to cause ds/exhaust contact even at full droop.

I do know that the phony swaybar link extensions can make contact with the tie rod on the drivers side, .

Unless he got longer shocks, the driveshaft can't hit the exhaust. Same full droop as stock.

Did you unbolt the driveshaft?

kit comes with 2" shock extensions but still not enough from what I have seen and I have maxed each one I did out.

Check the sway bar to see if it's making contact with the little nubs on the frame.

Good call. Without an adjustable track bar, the axle shift is probably causing contact there. I cut the ends off on mine. Even with a centered axle, the sway bar liked to roam from side to side and rub.

If you are getting a clunk when shifting I would say it has nothing to do with shifted axles or shock droop. More than likely something is not tight enough. Shifting gears shouldn't provide enough movement in the suspension for anything to have a clearance issue.

Also check that you installed the coil isolator correctly

Check torque on all suspension parts. Even shock mount bolts not tightened enough can cause clunking.
