IT IS OFFICIAL, Mopar 4.5'' suspension lift part number --- P5155075
I called my local dealer this morning and I got a price of $5,339.00 USD...for that much I think it would include driveshafts too. ( maybe wheels or gears too !?!?)
Still it's marked up over $1,200 from the direct price from Rubicon Express that includes drive shafts!!
My dealer said if the lift causes a OEM part failure then that OEM part is not coverd under the life time warranty.........so with that said, IF you run any tire larger than a 33'' you are voiding your entire lifetime drivetrain warranty.
Personally I'm just gonna get the RE superflex 3.5'' and run the stock OEM BFG's on the OEM wheels w/spidertrax 1.5'' spacers and if the OEM shafts go bad get the RE shafts later. When the stock OEM BFG's go bald I will get 285 70 17 (33'') BFG KM2's and call it done !!!

Wow, whats the advantage of going with the dealership to do the lift if this is the case? If this is true then the only benefit I see would be someone being able to finance that through the stealership.

Is the $1200 difference the cost of labor for the install? I really like the RE 4.5 from what I've seen and heard from people who have it and was leaning in that direction, and I'm even ok with it voiding any type of warranty (since I don't have the lifetime I don't much care), but who in their right mind would purchase it from a dealer if there's no advantage to doing so and it's over $1000 more than you can get it elsewhere?
I would have thought for that price it would be covered under the warranty, in which case it would make a bit more sense. Very odd, but overcharging and crappy service seems to be most dealers' way of doing business.

You can get 5in of lift under $1000 if you do it yourself.

But your still shorter than the Jeep. You must have been really short before your 5" lift
The dealer said... "if the lift causes a OEM part failure then that OEM part is not covered"
You interpret that to... "you are voiding your entire lifetime drive train warranty."
You may have even quoted the dealer saying that tires > 33" = voided warranty ... either way, its crap. By law the dealer can not void your warranty, but just as they said, will not fix issues caused by your modifications. So if your TPS goes out, they will still fix it, if you break an axle, they may not.
For more info, check out Magnuson-Moss (yeah its Wiki, but it explains it)
Sorry if I sound like a hard ass, but I've ran into a few service writers/managers who have taken one look at my jeep and told me they won't cover an issue because of the lift/tires, before they ever check out the issue. Once I pointed out the line in the manual as well as quoted Magnuson-Moss they back peddled, and both times I ended up with warranty items.
Plus saying something voids the entire warranty scares the crap out of people and at the very least makes people reluctant to mod and have fun with their new vehicles.

5 grand for a lift. That is ridiculous!
