Default Hydro Assist on 2.5" lift
I'm in the process of install a Hydro Assist on my JK. I'm not having much of a problem, but I am curious as if anybody has done this before. Of course I don't have a drag link flip kit on my jeep so the fit is a little tight under there. I have an idea of how I want to install it, but if anybody has done this can you post up some pictures that would be awesome. Thanks

Im running 3" lift and no flip. I used the Artec HD bracket and welded tabs to it. I'll see if I can get a picture when I get home. Its not perfectly level do to the tie rod flop but it seems to work fine.

Also interested in seeing your setup. Have the artec weld on bracket and am thinking of installing assist when I go to 37s

Sorry not the greatest pics. You have to make sure the passenger side hydro fitting wont hit the frame. Mine was real close. I want to try and find a drag link with more bend in it as it rubs a little right now when fully turned passenger.

What size tire are you running? If its 37s or less, Im curious why you would want to spend the money on a hydro assist? Other than possible cool factor, I dont understand why its needed..?

....seriously, Im just wondering....

His sig says he's running 37's. It seems that 37's is the usual cut-off especially if they plan on going bigger later.

Thanks.....got it....my bad for not checking his sig. Makes sense. I have 35s and this mod isnt something I would have to do it seems.

And Hydro Assist has a lot of benefits when wheeling. Even if you run 33's or 35's. If you're stressing the front end a lot through rocks or getting them wedged and it's tough to turn you can bend the steering components and screw up the steering box.. The hydro assist puts that stress on the steering ram. It's best to have an aftermarket tie rod for this setup though to keep from bending the stock components with all that pressure.
