Default Is the superchips flashpaq worth the money?

I need to get something to recalibrate my computer once I regear and add the 35s I was looking at the AEV procal because it's cheep but the flashpaq seems to be able to do a lot more with different settings for different scenarios like more power or MPG savings. My question is is it worth it to pay $300 for?

There are some huge threads on the flashpaq to read through. Some people say it made a night & day difference in power and is the best mod they have bought. Others think it does little, if anything. Some people have issues getting it to work. Others don't have any problems.

When I had it, I was not seat-of-the-pants impressed with any of the tunes. I stayed in OD a bit longer before downshifts on the freeway when using the Tow tune, the others I never noticed anything. I sold it and kept the procal. (a few years later I bought a diablo intune, and could actually feel a small power increase and the changed shift points with it. Could be that I was using some semi-early flashpaq tunes)

Is it worth the cost to you? No clue. Read a few dozen of the threads we already have on it and make your own decision.

One thing to keep in mind when reading the replies is that people may not write everything or give partial answers when they reply.

"I am getting 2 more mpg now!!" could easily mean that they went up several tire sizes, lost mpg due to both the tire size 'and' speedo/odo being off, and are now seeing accurate results after calibration. (I posted one of these myself way back when, before I stepped back and thought about it...)

And "I have a lot more power now!!" could mean that the shift points have been changed and that is what they are feeling, not the 5 or 7 more horse power or torque.

This man is wise. Don't expect major changes with any tuner. A polished turd is still a turd.

I'm not sure if you have the 3.6L or the 3.8L but I've used the flashpaq with my 2010 3.8L for a couple of years and I would say yes it's well worth the money. There is a bunch of tuning options, for me using an automatic when I went up in tire size my shift points were all off because that's determined by the Speedo. Keeping in mind the cost for re-gearing, selecting 35" tires got my Speedo and shifts back in the right order. I've tried both the power and economy tunes and I have to say the economy tune feels a bit smoother plus I really did get the gas mileage back.

So on that alone if you got 15mpg and only gained 1mpg with the flashpaq you would save just over 1 gallon per full tank. I know gas prices are good right now but at $3.00 per each gallon saved at fill up how long would it take for that to add up to $300. On economy tune with 35's and no gears I gained 3mpg and I work local so not much highway travel for me.

I noticed a difference in my butt after adjusting for 33" tires, 85 octane tune, and Superchips pedal response. No idea if MPH was affected however. I upgraded the flashcal to the flash paq on an end of the year deal.

If your looking to regear for tires or the speedo fix, than get the cheap aev. You won't see any night or day difference lol honestly it's worthless there are some things you can do but unless you offroad a lot and want to do some minor tweaks it's not worth it. This is coming from a guy that had a flashpac superchips the older version red one. May be better now? Just get a supercharger..... The tuner comes with.... Lol
