Default gear size vs rpm plotted on graph for 3.8 auto

I keep looking over and analyzing their ratio charts vs rpm and torque Here is what I get
Based on this there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of loss in torque or hp at speed. So my question is is the poor performance also based upon the weight of the larger tire. Or is it a seat of the pants thing as you accelerate because there is so much less HP and torque at low rams
