Depends really on how heavy your rig is - bumpers, winches, armor...?
The heavier it is, the "comfier" your ride will be with almost any springs. Its at the opposite weight spectrum (stock rigs), where you run into troubles with the springrate beeing to high...

Best is a matter of opinion. I have an Old Man Emu 2.5" of my 2010 JKU and I like it. I had the stock sport suspension and then went to the rubicon suspension for a while. I can tell you the rubi springs and shocks are firmer than the OME springs and shocks. The OME was suggested by a friend and he has a 2011 2 door sport with the rubi springs and shocks. What I find interesting is that OME has different springs for what kind of Jeep you have, 2 or 4 door, soft or hard top, bumpers and/or what kind of load you have. The ride is soft. No harsh bumps on the road and pretty forgiving on the trails. I did add the AEV front drop brackets to the JKU because I thought the Jeep was looking that on the steering going down the freeway. The drop brackets helped by increasing the caster back to the original caster. I have another friend who has the 2.5" AEV sport suspension on his 2012 2 door. He likes that a lot. I have been in his and the ride is not bad, but I found it bouncier than my 4 door. That is probably from the shorter wheelbase and the lighter weight than mine. I am not concerned that the brackets hang down from the chassis than the standard mounts because I personally think that there are more things underneath that would catch than those brackets.

that has not been my experience. I have had Tera Flex 1.5" performance coils and now RK 1.5" triple rate coils on 2013 jku and 2014 jkur and I can tell you both were much better on road than the stock 17/58 on the jku and the 19/60 that were on the jkur. Not as harsh on small sharp bumps yet less body sway on corners. Both were run with Rubicon stock shocks for several hundred miles before switching to Rancho 7000's.

I have the teraflex 2.5 coil lift they were great on dirt and pavement but after a year the really sagged bad but that's with both ACE bumpers, winch and Gobi rack. I just had the 2.5"MC dual rate springs put on Friday my JK never stood this tall even before all of the gear rides and the ride awesome!

Best spring *height* for on-road is probably stock, but the stock springs (even Rubi springs) are too soft for my liking.

This has come up a couple times lately on the forum. Better/stronger springs at stock height. Somebody must make them!

Spring height and spring strength are independent of each other. You can have a stiff short spring (Terraflex), or a soft tall spring (EMU), or anything in between. Its a question of knowing what you want and then finding it.
